Information we collect

  • Device & usage information — browser type, IP address, time zone, cookie data, the pages and products you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site. Collected automatically via cookies, log files, pixels, tags, and similar technologies, to load the Site correctly and to understand and improve how it's used.
  • Order & account information — your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information (card details are processed and encrypted by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers). Collected to fulfill your order, process payment, arrange shipping, send confirmations, prevent fraud, and communicate with you.
  • Customer-support & communications information — the content of emails, messages, reviews, and any details you share when you contact us or sign up for marketing.
  • Analytics & session-recording information — we use tools that record general on-site behavior (such as mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling) to improve usability. We are not interested in identifying you through these tools, and we mask sensitive form fields where supported. See "Analytics and session recording" below.

How we use your information

We use personal information to: provide and fulfill your orders; process payments and arrange shipping; offer customer support; prevent fraud and secure the Site; understand and improve our Site and products; and — where you've opted in or where permitted — send you marketing about new arrivals, one-of-a-kind pieces, and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time via the link in our emails, by replying STOP to a text message, or by contacting us.

Service providers we share information with

We share personal information with vendors who help us run the business, only as needed to provide their service. These currently include:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform and payment processing (Shopify Payments). See https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
  • Klaviyo — email and SMS marketing and related analytics.
  • Microsoft Clarity and Lucky Orange — analytics, heatmaps, and session recording.
  • Google — analytics and, via the Google sales channel, product listings/advertising.
  • Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and other advertising and measurement partners — to deliver and measure ads.
  • Matrixify — bulk data import/export for store operations.
  • Shipping carriers and our fulfillment workflow — to deliver your order.

We may also disclose personal information to comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests (such as a subpoena), or to protect our rights.

Analytics and session recording

To understand how visitors use the Site, we use analytics and session-recording tools (including Microsoft Clarity, Lucky Orange, and Google analytics). These capture interaction data — page views, clicks, scrolling, and similar — and help us improve layout, performance, and usability. We do not use these tools to read the content you type into form fields for the purpose of identifying you, and sensitive fields are masked where the tool supports it. Where required, we obtain your consent through our cookie banner before these tools run.

Behavioral / targeted advertising

We use your information to show you relevant advertising on third-party platforms (such as Meta and Google) and to measure those ads. This may involve cookies and similar technologies and the sharing of certain information with advertising partners. You can learn about and opt out of interest-based advertising through the Digital Advertising Alliance (https://optout.aboutads.info/) and the Network Advertising Initiative (https://optout.networkadvertising.org/), and you can manage ad settings directly with platforms like Meta and Google.

Your privacy rights

California (CCPA/CPRA) — If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to and deletion of it, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies and pixels may be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out at any time using our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" page (/pages/ccpa-opt-out), or by using the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in a supported browser. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

Texas (TDPSA) — If you are a Texas resident, you have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access, correct, and delete it, to obtain a portable copy, and to opt out of (i) targeted advertising, (ii) the sale of personal data, and (iii) certain profiling. As described above, our use of advertising cookies and pixels may constitute targeted advertising or a "sale" under Texas law. You may opt out using our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" page (/pages/ccpa-opt-out) or a recognized opt-out preference signal such as GPC. We do not sell sensitive personal data, and we do not process sensitive data without your consent. To appeal a decision regarding a privacy request, contact us at hello@arteverk.com; if your appeal is denied, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.

Other states & GDPR/UK — Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws, and residents of the EEA/UK, have comparable rights to access, correct, delete, and port their personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@arteverk.com. If your information is processed in connection with an order, we keep it for our records and to meet legal obligations unless and until you ask us to erase it.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the store to function (cart, checkout, login, security) and others for analytics and advertising as described above. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. For Shopify's current cookie list, see https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as GPC) where required.

Minors

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data security & retention

We use Shopify's secure, PCI-compliant infrastructure and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission is perfectly secure. We retain personal information as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal or operational reasons. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last revised.

Complaints

If you have a concern, contact us first at hello@arteverk.com. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection or consumer protection authority (for California, the California Privacy Protection Agency; for Texas, the Office of the Texas Attorney General).
