Missouri City rugs are hand-washed at our west Houston workshop, about twenty-five minutes out on Highway 6 — and we collect and return them. Wool, silk, antique, viscose and machine-made. Quote first, always.

Why a rug is washed, not shampooed
Most of the soil is dry
The majority of what is in a rug is grit, sitting down at the base of the pile where it cuts the fibres every time somebody walks across it. It comes out dry, before any water. Wet it first and you turn grit into mud.
The dyes get tested first
Older and hand-dyed rugs can bleed. We test before the rug is wet, not after, because a dye that has run into the ivory of a rug is not something that can be undone.
Drying is where rugs are lost
Controlled drying is the slowest part and the reason we quote a week to ten days. A rug rushed dry — or left damp in Fort Bend humidity — is how you get mould, odour and a foundation that never fully recovers.
Collection across 77459 and 77489
Quail Valley, Lake Olympia, Vicksburg, Hunters Glen, Colony Lakes and Palmer Plantation, plus Sienna and Fresno. We take the rug from the room and bring it back — you never move it.
Pet urine and odour
Three problems, not one: the stain, the smell, and the salt in the foundation that reactivates every humid week. Only full immersion removes the third, which is why the odour keeps returning after a surface clean.
Repairs, while it is with us
If the wash exposes a worn end, a loose selvedge or moth damage, we quote the repair separately. Nothing is done without your say-so — see our Sugar Land repair page for what that work involves.

Common questions
Do you collect rugs from Missouri City?
Yes, and we return them. We cover 77459 and 77489 — Quail Valley, Lake Olympia, Vicksburg, Hunters Glen, Colony Lakes and Palmer Plantation — plus Sienna and Fresno. The rug is washed at our west Houston workshop, roughly twenty-five minutes out via Highway 6 and the Fort Bend Parkway.
What does rug cleaning cost in Missouri City?
It is priced by size and construction, not by the room. A wool rug and a silk rug of identical size are different jobs. Send photographs and the measurements and you get a quote before we collect anything — and if a wash will not meaningfully improve the rug, we will say so rather than take the money.
How long will my rug be gone?
Usually a week to ten days for a hand-wash. The drying is controlled and cannot be hurried; that stage is where most rugs are damaged by cheaper cleaners. If the rug also needs repair we quote that separately so you can decide.
Can you get pet urine out for good?
Usually, but only with full immersion. Pet urine leaves three problems — the visible stain, the odour, and crystalline salt down in the foundation. Surface and steam cleaning reach the first. The salt pulls moisture out of Fort Bend humidity and revives the smell every damp week until the rug is properly washed.
My rug smells musty after a leak. Is that mould?
Very likely. Mould is a living growth feeding on the wool, not a stain sitting on top of it, and by the time it is noticeable it is usually in the foundation as well as the pile. It needs immersion washing and controlled drying. Bring it to us quickly — the longer wool stays damp, the more of it is lost.
Do you clean synthetic and machine-made rugs too?
Yes. Power-loomed and synthetic rugs are cleaned differently from hand-knotted wool, and viscose different again from both. Tell us what you have — if you are not sure, a photograph of the back of the rug usually tells us.
Missouri City customers also use our pet urine & odour, mould & mildew, viscose & art-silk and flood & water-damage services. See how we wash a rug, or our Sugar Land cleaning & repair page for neighbouring Fort Bend.
