Every rug needs a pad
Why your rug needs a pad
A pad is the least expensive thing you can do for a rug. It adds comfort, keeps the rug still, and takes the wear that would otherwise fall on the rug itself — which matters rather more when the rug is meant to outlast you.
What it does
- Takes the wear instead of your rug. Underfoot, a rug without a pad grinds its own foundation against a hard floor.
- Protects the floor. Grit works under a rug; a pad keeps it from being dragged across wood or stone.
- Stops the creep. The rug stays where you laid it and the corners stay flat.
- Makes vacuuming easier. The rug lies flat instead of rucking ahead of the head.

How yours is cut
We cut every pad to the rug it ships with — yours to 10'0'' x 13'3'' (300 X 398), set a little inside the edge so it stays out of sight — and send it in the same shipment, so there is no second delivery to wait for. Rugs relax and settle once they are down, so a small trim with household scissors is occasionally needed — that is normal, and easily done.

Terracotta Pastoral es una alfombra Kerman semi antique, de Iran, tejida en wool, que mide 10'0" × 13'3". Fue anudada enteramente a mano, nudo a nudo en el telar, por lo que no hay dos iguales. An open red field holds a small floral medallion, inside wide gold and navy floral borders. Rich, warm contrast.
It will take a dining table up to about 8 by 5 feet, seating 10, with every chair still on the rug when it is pulled out.
Kerman, in south east Iran, is the most softly drawn of the great Persian weaving cities: open fields, delicate palmettes and pale grounds. If a Heriz is built to be used, a Kerman is made to be admired.

A note on character
Faint creases from transit are normal and relax within a few days of lying flat. Slight irregularities in line and color are the fingerprints of the weaver, not flaws.
