An oriental rug is a rug hand-knotted in the traditional weaving regions of the East — Iran (Persia), the Caucasus, Turkey, Afghanistan, Central Asia and India. Every oriental rug here is genuinely hand-knotted in wool or silk, tied knot by knot by hand — never power-loomed or printed. Big-box retailers sell machine-made 'oriental-style' rugs; we sell only the real thing, and we state the construction, origin and age honestly on every product page.
